Study 1  Action Observation Explanation Bring a charged rod in contact with the charge sampler, then move the rod away The conductive rod rotated away from the starting position There is a net charge because electrons are transferred from the rod to the electroscope. The charge sampler allowed charge to flow throughout the electroscope. A repulsive force is experienced between the same charges between the conductive rod and plank. Study 2  Action Observation Explanation Bring a charged rod near the charge sampler (if you hear a spark start over), then move the rod away. The rod rotated away from the starting position when the charged rod was brought near and the conductive rod moved back to the starting position once the charged rod was moved away. The electroscope experienced a net charge, as the charged rod attracts the oppositely charged charge sampler. Electrons move toward the sampler or may have been repelled to flow to the conductive rod, so the same charge is on

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
