SITUATION ANALYSIS OF LULULEMON ATHLETICA INC. 3 Abstract lululemon Athletica Inc., known simply as lululemon, is a Canadian sports attire merchant. It is a self-labeled yoga-influence sports attire company and a retailer and designer, that manufactures an attire line and manages global clothing stores from its base in Vancouver, Canada. As of January 31, 2016, lululemon manages 363 stores located in the Canada, Germany, U.S., Australia, Singapore, Hong Kong, New Zealand, the U.K., and Puerto Rico, the clear bulk are proprietaries of lululemon. Sales in 2016 were over $2 billion, with 20% of those sales from Canada and 73% from the U.S. The company was established in 1998, and now has approximately 11,000 employees globally. While competition remains ferocious, the strength of its brand, particularly with its core of working women, should permit lululemon to continue dominant the retail athletic industry. While the costs related with their products temper earnings lululemon’s large capital ventures should also allow it to post positive results.

The company makes a various array of sportswear, comprising of performance shirts, pants, and shorts, including yoga accessories and lifestyle apparel. Introduction The business outlook for lululemon looks to be strengthening. The retailer and designer of yoga- influence sports attire and accessories ended 2016 with far more decent margins than expected, motivated by the strength in numerous vital product categories of women and men’s lines. Margins improved in the final quarter, although they have been a bit choppy in recent periods (Horan, 2011). The lululemon brand is a robust leader in the retail world, and administration is betting on its strength the achieve higher earnings and sales.
