3.1 - Discussion: Industry Experience and Business Analytics FrameworksWhether in one’s position within the workplace or from personal perspective of experiences, one maybe involved with a variety of business processes that may highlight diverse business problems. Businessproblems may present significant challenges for organizations. However, such problems may alsopresent notable opportunities for firms to address such issues and through the catalyst of businessanalytics work to realize and generate lasting effective solutions. Relative to personal experience,analysis highlights a variety of occasions with involvement in a business process such as making anonline purchase that presented business problems that could permit opportunities for development of abusiness analytics framework to address such issues.Analysis of one’s experiences with involvement in a business process that presented businessproblems permitting opportunity for business analytics framework to address the problem first requiresunderstanding of the business process concept itself. A business process is essentially sets or collectionsof activities or linked tasks whose conclusion or completion results in accomplishment of a specificorganizational goal, or the delivery of a product or service to a client. The inputs relative to the processare also highlighted to be all the factors, either in direct or indirect format, which contribute to a productor service’s value (Appian, 2018). So, it is apparent that a business process is essentially a collectedgroup of linked task or activities that work to accomplish a specific goal for an organization, or may be aprocess of tasks and activities which concludes with a product or service’s delivery. From thisunderstanding of what constitutes a business process, it is readily permissible to identify from one’spersonal experience a business process one has been involved with, that presents business problemsthat would permit an opportunity for a business analytics framework to address the problem. One suchbusiness process may be highlighted as making an online purchase in the role of a consumer/customer.Relative to personal experience, making an online purchase may be highlighted as a business processone has been involved in that can also present business problems, that allow opportunity for a businessanalytics framework to address the issue. Making a purchase online is today extremely commonplace.E-commerce has experienced significant growth and modified consumer shopping habits, permittingincreased convenience for consumers as customers (Mittal, 2017). It is also highlighted to offerincreased variety of choice while being secure and permitting price comparisons (FindLaw, 2018).
