As we have seen, their experiences are diverse and complicated, based on their status as black and either enslaved or free. For this assignment, you will analyze and compare interviews done with former slaves in the 1930s as part of the Works Project Administration project. Based on these interviews, you will make an argument about the slave experience. You will then research and use secondary sources to back up your argument.
