Huey 1 Kristan Huey 14 September 2017 EDUC 1300.WS7 3.1: Incredible Feats of Memory Joshua Foer About eight minutes into the video, Josh is discussing an experiment compare a control group brain and a trained memorization brain. When compared to the controlled group, the trained memorization brains were lighting up different parts of the brain. Just like in whole-brain learning, the trained minds are using more pieces of the brain than just the left or right hemisphere. Josh pulls metacognition into his speech by comparing baker to baker. Simply he says, if someone is told to remember the name baker versus remembering that a man is a baker then logically the one who must think deeper about the word will remember it later. The person that had to remember a guy is a baker is the one who will remember it later because he went deeper into thought by having an image of a baker in a kitchen pop up in their head.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
