Weekly Highlights Theme: Me & My Family Room: 103 Week of: August 7 th - August 11 th , 2017 Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday Language and Cognition: “Find Your Family” Teachers will place the pictures of each family on the floor and encourage each child to find their family photo. Sensory: “Where’s My Family” Children will get to rummage through cornmeal in the sensory bin to find the cut outs of their families. Word: Family Art/Fine Motor Skills: “Hands, Hands are Everywhere!” Using their fine motor skills, the children will paint their hands (with teachers assistance) and help paint the teachers hands to create a hand collage for our class family. Gross Motor: “Family Dinner” The play food and dishware will be sitting on the table. The children will be encouraged to get a plate, utensil, cup, and food items and sit down in a chair to have “dinner” and pretend to eat. Sign: Family Literacy: Are You My Mother?
