Ballantyne Mollie Ballantyne Mr. Patrick Ethics 220, Section 633 06 April 2016 Animal Rights Animal rights are moral entitlements attributed to animals because of the complexity of their emotional, social, and cognitive lives or their capacity to practice emotional or physical pleasure or pain. Different views on the extent of animal rights have reflected legal and philosophical developments, ethical and religious concepts, and scientific conceptions of human and animal nature of the relationship between people and animals. Philosophers argue on the place of animals in the current human morality. They urge respect for the interests of animals, primarily because of the belief in the transmigration of souls between animal and human bodies ( Evans 5). There is an argument of whether animals have moral rights or not, which may be infringed by causing them suffering or killing them. Case for Animal Rights Non- human animals have fundamental interests that ought to have protection, recognition, and consideration. These basic interests give animals legal and moral rights. Human
