The Military Honor Code – Does it Really Exist? 1. What images? The images used are a video game advertisement for a console game created and sponsored by the US Army and an actual US Army sponsored recruitment advertisement. 2. Why? Ethics – Should the recruitment advertisement ignore the more violent, gruesome part of the US Army that the video game portrays in order to draw in more people? 3. Thesis: Although both advertisements are sponsored by the Army, the video game is more able to portray the realistic and violent side of war instead of glorifying it to pull more people in with the portrayal of normal life over war life. 4. Point 1 : The recruitment portrays a happy young man in a normal construction job and even though there is an army uniform clad version of him in an image behind him, the words on the bottom of the article imply nothing of being sent overseas to fight. It seems as if they are trying to completely ignore that fact, when it has a rather high chance of happening. It portrays to the
