Hey guys. Here are some of my notes and suggest of things that might help. By all means don’t take my word for it, these are just things that helped me. If what you read here doesn’t make sense, but some other way of explaining it does, go with the other method. Sometimes just seeing something presented in a new way makes things click! A quick suggestions: 1. Keep the bigger picture in mind. Make sure you know where the details fit into the overall topics and how the overall topics function together. Big picture: Unit One: Cell Biology 1. Macromolecules 2. What makes up a Cell? 3. Membrane Traffic, Enzymes and Energy 4. Cellular Respiration 5. Photosynthesis “light synthesis” Here we go… 1. Macromolecules: 4 major macromolecules: 1. Car bohydrates 2. li pids 3. p roteins 4. nu Hmmm….we can make that into funny word: Car-lip-p-nu! 2. What makes up a cell: To remember all the parts of a cell, I like to use metaphors to remind me of what each part of the cell does. For example: A (Eukaryotic animal cell) Cell is like Nucleus –He’s in charge. Rough/Smooth ER –In the cell, the proteins (synthesized lipids, enzymes) are
