Ashawnte Rice Willmott Explanation of Prom The United states of America is a very diverse country, with a lot of freedom. Because the US has so much freedom and diversity, it also has many different cultural traditions that other countries do not practice, or practice differently. One example of an American tradition is Prom. Prom is an extremely formal dance for seniors in high school at the end of their school year. Many say it is their last dance or time to spend together as classmates. Females usually go out and purchase very expensive dresses meant for this special occasion. They get their hair done by a professional or at a salon. They purchase nice heels, a handbag, jewelry, maybe get professionally done makeup and nails. Also, they sometimes purchase a boutonniere for their male date . Males usually just rent a tuxedo that matches the color of their dates dress and purchase a corsage to put on their date (Proflowers, 2012). Also, either the male or female will rent a limo or nice car to make an extravagant entrance to prom.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
