The angular velocity of the earth is 360 per day everywhere Linear velocity however depends on latitude: It is fastest at the equator and zero at the poles. A shot towards the equator from the poles would appear to veer westward or to the right in the northern hemisphere. A shot from the equator would appear to go eastward as it leaves faster moving air. Westward motion has weaker centrifugal force causing the motion to veer poleward (the right) in the northern hemisphere. Eastward motion has excess centrifugal force causing to veer equatorward (the right) in the northern hemisphere. Coriolis Force: 1.
