Reflection 9: WarXavier JohnsonPHL 115 (Spring 2017)Wasserstrom’s nihilistic label of war as being amoral seems valid to me. The morality of war seems to bethey greyest (not black and white) topic so far. How does one label war as being right or wrong, especially when those involved in war are primarily military personnel that do not have a choice in the matter. They would be violating a direct order and potentially putting their comrades in direct harm by not eliminating the enemy. On the other hand, some do not have a choice, for example, the Taliban invade villages, take children and wives as hostages, and demand that the men go fight U.S. soldiers against their will, or they will execute their families.
