ABOUT THE WASHINGTON MARCH The March was a huge protest that took place on August 1963, about 250,000 blacks and whites clustered in front of Lincoln Memorial in Washington D.C. They were protesting for jobs and freedom. They also wanted to show all the people across the state about the inequalities faced by African Americans. The goals of the protestors back before the march still had not been recognized by 1963.

THE INEQUALITIES OF AFRICAN AMERICANS There were extreme high levels of blacks that were unemployed, and the ones that did work got minimal wages. No way of transportation, because blacks weren’t allowed on public buses. In 1958, 44% of white Americans threatened to move neighborhoods if a black family moved beside them. Blacks weren’t allowed to share the same bathrooms, same schools, same bus, and more. White southern people would remove their kids from public schools and into all white “segregation academics.”

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
