Kyle Colyn Professor De Smith Core 180 11-1-16 “Those Winter Sundays” The first thing that I noticed about this poem was that the title itself suggests that it is about a memory because of the word, “those”. It suggests that the speaker is not speaking about one single event, but rather that it is a weekly event for him on Sundays. This poem is all a about the childhood of the speaker. The speaker remembers the sacrifices that the father made for him throughout his childhood. These sacrifices include the father putting his family before himself. He used to get up out of bed before the rest of his family in order to heat up the house so that his family could be warm. Sundays are a day of rest and the speaker recognizes the fact that the father works even on Sundays on behalf of the son. The relationship between the father and the son seems to be hasty to say the least because the son uses the word, “father” to address his dad.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
