Psychological Science: Modeling Scientific Literacy, 2ndEdition. Boston, MA: Pearson.(ISBN-13: 9780134101583)Course Objectives: Psychologists use the scientific method to understand people’s behavior and cognitive processes. These investigations span multiple areas including learning and memory, lifespan development, social, personality, clinical and health psychology. In addition to the variety of fields, psychology examines behavior at multiple levels such as biological, behavioral, and cultural. Our tasks are to: 1) introduce the field of psychological science, 2) explore the research methods psychologists use to answer questions, 3) use researchand theory to introduce psychological processes in multiple fields, and 4) apply psychological theories to everyday life. The major requirements of the course (summarized in the table below) will assess both your mastery of the course material (lecture and reading) and your ability to integrate the material by making connections between everyday life and psychological theories.ASSESSMENTEvaluations will be based on a 100-point system, broken down as follows:

Your final grade is the average of the individual assignment grades. You can download the assignments on Blackboard. All assignments will be posted at least one week prior to the due date. You may visit office hours to review your assignment grade but it must be done so within one week of posting grades.
