Network Learning Activity #4
Packet Tracer Peer-to-Peer and Client Server Networks
Build a peer-to-peer network and establish connectivity
Build a client-server network and establish connectivity
In this exercise you will use Packet Tracer to construct two different topologies in the
same workspace. For each topology, once constructed and addressed, you will
demonstrate connectivity with the ping utility that is part of the ICMP protocol suite.
Part 1: Build a Peer-to-Peer Network
Add devices to Packet Tracer workspace.
Open Packet Tracer software on your computer.
Scroll your mouse over the devices in the bottom left corner watching screen tips to find
Switches, and then click the icon.
From the row of switch icons that appear in the adjacent
window, select a 2960 and drag it to the workspace.
Again scroll your mouse over the devices and locate End Devices and click the icon. From the
adjacent window select the first generic PC and drag this to the workspace.
Repeat this until
you have four PCs arranged beneath the switch.
