Saint Paul By Jack Rodberg Saint Paul the Apostle was born in AD 5 and died in AD 67. He grew up as a Jew in Rome. He had one sister and one nephew. Paul was a Roman citizen that came from a wealthy family. His family members were all prosperous tentmakers. He was a diaspora Jew, or a Jew that is living out of Palestine. Paul’s original name was Saul, but his name switched to Paul when he was baptized. In 35 AD, Jesus came down to him and named him an apostle. Paul then converted from Judaism to Christianity. Jesus named him the Apostle of Gentiles. In AD 38, Paul met Saint Peter, James, and John. They helped spread the gospel of the lord in several different countries and empires. In AD 57, Paul was arrested in Jerusalem for opposing the Jewish Law. The Jews were planning to kill Paul. Paul escaped the Jews by being taken under the Romans. He was held prisoner in Rome for two years. Paul was later beheaded. Paul’s miracles were very similar to Saint Peter’s miracles. Paul cured a crippled and paralyzed man who was unable to stand or walk. Paul also resuscitated a man who fell
