Ngilane NdaoField Research on College SuccessSuccess is measured in all different ways, one popular way is college. Many peopleachieve College Success, or they’re currently working on it or one day they will. I developed myfield research for individuals all achieve college success at different times and or different ways.Each of them came across some challenges, but none of them will let it stop them.Anthony SmallsAnthony Smalls is a 26 year old male from Brownsville,Brooklyn. Anthony is currently acounselor in a local community center in Brownsville, he attended Howard University in DC, buthe later transferred to Medgar Evers College back in New York City where he obtained abachelor's in childhood education in 2015. A big challenge Anthony faced while earning hisdegree was, the fact that him didn't know what he wanted to major in. Anthony graduated highschool back in 2009, he had good grades and he knew what college he wanted to go to, the onlything he didn't know was the major that he wanted to go into and where he was going in life buthe brushed it off as if it would automatically come to him when he started College. When heenrolled in school he went with the safe choice, which was majoring in Liberal Arts. In about ayear-and-a-half Anthony started to come to terms with he still did not know what he wanted todo, he partied all the time his grade started dropping drastically and he was just tired and drainedof the University type of scene. He was ready to return back to his hometown and find what hewanted to do whether if it involved college or not. When he returned back to New York hemoved back in with his parents and she started working in Kings Plaza at the pretzel food court,
Ngilane Ndaoalthough it wasn't the job he desired he was not going to sit at home and not be productive whilehe thought about what he wanted to do in life. One day coming home from work he seen acommotion by his building, he realized it was a couple of black men around his age beingarrested, although he was never a kid that was into being in the streets or gang activity of anysource, but he saw that could have been him just as anybody else. At this momenthe knew hewanted to do something to help, he thought about it for about a week and he realize he wanted tobeguidance counselor. That situation just made him think if those guys had somewhat of better
