Interviews question: Semistuctured interviews consist of a degree of informality however they still remain more fixed/formal than focus groups. During these interviews the interviewer has predetermined questions that they would ask the young teenage Afghanis but they also are able to expand on certain points or topics that they feel are important. One advantage of the use of Semistuctures interviews in this study is that they were able to determine probing question to the Afghani teenagers to test which questions they were comfortable answering. However this can also be seen as a con as the Afghani teenagers were made aware of the questions before the interview and thus could have prepared answers before the interview was conducted. Semi-structured interviews were a good use for the Afghani teenagers it notes that each teenager had their own varied experiences and thus could have a different perspective on the social issue they faced. This allows the researcher to deviate from a strict set of questions that a regular formal interview would have to gain richer data about the teenagers. It should be noted that Semi structured interviews take up a lot of time especially when the researched chose to use inductive content analysis as her means to process data. Additionally, each interviewer should be trained whilst interviewing the Afghani teenagers as it is very difficult to pick up and understand which questions to ask.
