They help us transform into better people Relationships reduce stress and have been linked to overall improved health. Researchers have shown that people with healthy social relationships have a 50% greater chance of survival. People with poor relationships are more likely to suffer from depression, and loneliness is strong enough to lower our immune system. People who are in loving relationships have a lower death rate compared to single people . When you first meet someone of interest, the brain gives off the chemical called oxytocin, which is called “the bonding hormone.”
