Required Formalities Must be in writing. Written in a language/ dialect the testator knows. Signed (subscribed) by the testator himself at the end or by his name written by another person in his presence and under his orders. Attested and subscribed by three or more credible witnesses in the presence of the testator and of one another. Acknowledgement of the will before a notary public.

Holographic Will A will written entirely by the testator with his own hand and not witnessed or attested.

Probate of a Holographic Will It is necessary that at least one witness who knows the handwriting and signature of the testator explicitly declare that the will and the signature are in the handwriting of the testator himself. If the signature of the testator in a will is contested, at least three of such witnesses shall be required.
