Course Assessment Assignments (25%): One assignment for each topic. Deadline : submit to TA every next Friday (during the tutorial). Late submission will not be counted. Midterm exam: will be held on 24 Oct 2017 (Tue) during the class. Exam venue will be determined. No make-up exam will be arranged. If you take sick leave (with validate medical certificate), the percentage of final exam in your assessment will become 75%. Final Exam : will cover the whole course but emphasize more on the latter part. Date and venue will be determined. Final Score: Scheme A: Assignment 25% + Mid-term Exam 35% + Final Exam 40% = 100% Scheme B: Assignment 25% + Mid-term Exam 20% + Final Exam 55% = 100% Your final score will be chosen among schemes A and B which is the highest . Bonus (+2%) Questions (closed or open-ended) will be asked during the lectures and you have to answer them through the internet Personal Response System (iPRS). As a reward, you will receive: (1) 1 point for correct answer (or for open-ended questions) or (2) 0.3 point for wrong answer or (3) 0 point otherwise (no show or no response) The bonus point received will be accumulated. Bonus rewards The total bonus point will not be directly counted towards the grade, but will be considered when your final score is slightly less than the required score for the next higher grade. e.g. Suppose the margin for a B+ is 80. If your final score is 79, the designated grade is B. However, it may be upgraded from B to B+ if you obtained a total bonus point of 1% or more.
