You also will cover the importance of a differential gear system.Procedure: Exercise 1: A) For the given gears, fill out the remainder of the table with the nomenclatures of the gears. Run the gears at 3 different speeds and record their speed ratios. Then solve for the overall speed ratio.B) Using the catalog, select a speed reducer for the given application and complete the questions that follow. Results: All results are within the lab report. Conclusions/Recommendations: Gear ratios are important to know which gears are working properly and creating the necessary mechanical advantage. The ratios show the effect that different size gears have on each other.Real World Applications: Gears are found in many things from Grandfather clocks to watches on your hand. With proper gear ratios you can have extremely effective conveyors or even escalators.
