2 Energy Conservation Energy consumption is important to evaluate every year. The environmental impact each person has can be lowered with certain behaviors and actions either changed or introduced into a daily routine. Currently, I have a few practices that I use to conserve energy, however I know there are more actions I can take that would result in better energy conservation. For example, I wash my clothes in cold water, and wait to wash my clothes until I have a full load. Soon I will be doing a home renovation, and I plan on purchasing newer a washer and dryer that are designed to conserve energy. When I commute to work I always ask my coworkers if they need a ride, this reduces the emissions. If I upgrade my vehicle to a better gas efficacy hybrid then the carbon emissions would be even less. Integrating sustainable energy sources at home or at work, researching other methods that have become successful in different regions or states, and analyzing current sustainable development practices while suggesting improvements of these practices to the state are all actions that each person can take to conserve energy starting on the individual level to the state level. In the Home It starts in the home first. All sustainable practices should become the goal of each person that decides to make a positive change to conserve energy. While most homeowners or renters can’t afford to install a personal solar panel or wind turbine on their property, I believe that making feasible changes can amount to a significant impact.
