PHY-115, Nov 2017 Eva Larsen Assignment 3 1. Impulse = Ft, and Ft = (mv) Impulse is a vector quantity which essentially is a measure of change in momentum. Impulse is the force acting on an object, and the time interval such force acts for. 2. When a moving billiard ball collides with a stationary ball, momentum is conserved, and the net momentum of the billiard balls will remain the same before, during, and after the balls colliding. When the moving billiard ball hits the stationary ball, the moving ball will come to rest, and the stationary ball will move with a speed equal to the colliding ball. 3. Energy is an acquirement that enables an object to do work, whereas power is determined by the amount of time it takes to do a given amount of work. Power is equal to the amount of work done, divided by the amount of time it takes to do it. An example of energy would be driving down a hill on a bicycle. At the top of the hill the bicycle has potential energy. As you start the ride down the hill, this potential energy is converted to

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
