Clifford Detiege Dr. Joe Sprinkle BTH1201 Old Testament History 18 March 2016 Chapter Summaries: 1 Samuel 9 – 2 Samuel 9 1 Sam 09 Saul looks for Samuel's advice; God picks Saul as lord. 1 Sam 10 Saul is anointed, forecasts, and is announced as lord. 1 Sam 11 Saul conveys Jabesh-Gilead from the Ammonites; Israel affirms Saul as lord. 1 Sam 12 Samuel helps Israel to remember God's integrity to them regardless of their irresoluteness; he cautions Israel of the results of opposing God as opposed to dreading and serving him. 1 Sam 13 Saul restlessly offers an unlawful penance; Israel confronts the Philistines in fight. 1 Sam 14 Jonathan slaughters 20 Philistines; the LORD confounds the Philistines, and Israel ascends and crushes them. Saul curses any individual who eats sustenance, yet Jonathan is saved. Saul fights Israel's adversaries. 1 Sam 15 Saul resists the LORD by not giving ruin to demolition. The LORD rejects Saul as ruler of Israel.
