StilSim Personnel - Strategic Plan
Unfortunately, StilSim hasn’t been keeping up with the changes in our industry.
In order
to stay with the competition, we need to develop an elaborated strategy which if
completed as stated, it will put us ahead of our competitors.
For us to develop a good
strategy, we must understand current pertinent information that will help us formulate the
strategy.
In this analysis, I will show a situation overview of the industry we serve, a brief note of
our history, and our business’s current situation.
By understanding this information, we
will be more knowledgeable and can help build a better strategy, and it will be helpful to
present opportunities and treats.
Industry Overview
The staffing, recruiting, and workforce solutions industry makes a vital contribution to
the U.S. economy and provides outstanding job and career opportunities for nearly 15 million
employees per year.
(Staffing Industry Statistics, 2017) The staffing and recruiting industry is
one that has changed to accommodate the needs of the work environments.
To be successful,
they must adapt to all the personnel’s and industrial needs, and match their requirements.
“The internet is having a significant impact on nearly every industry, it has changed the ways
business interact with each other and the consumers.” (Dess, 2016)
Many companies continue to shift their staffing needs to professional employment
organizations to deliver quality employees. “Staffing Industry Analysts released its annual list
of largest US staffing firms, which included 144 firms with US staffing revenue of more than
$100 million in 2016.
The largest firms in the U.S. are Allegis Group, Randstad Holding, and
Adecco.”

Company History
Rusty Stillman and Bill Simmons started StilSim 25 years ago in Capital City.
Unfortunately, Rusty Stillman passed away from a heart attack and Bill Simmons is running
the company by himself.
The company expanded to Lakeside when Mary Porter’s husband
got transfer four years ago, to accommodate her Mr. Simmons let her stay there and open an
office.
They also opened an office in the Mountainview area. (StilSim, 2017)
As per Mr. Simmons, profits have been declining due to not filling positions, and there
are more people working there than ever. Also, Mr. Simmons learned that one of his ex-
employee (Don Wilson) has opened a staffing office in town specializing in healthcare
positions.
Current Situation
StilSim hasn’t kept up with the demand for better and more qualified candidates
because they haven’t seen the benefit to change.
The company needs better ways to attract
more qualified candidates, this is where technology can be helpful.
One of their past
employees (Don Wilson) already left and now is a competitor, one that is doing much better,
using the internet and media to gain new customers.
