Branch Manager Job 2Job Description: Branch ManagerAccording to Youssef (2015), a job description is a document that identifies characteristics of the job to be performed in terms of the tasks, duties, and responsibilities an employee must fulfill. My current position with my company is Branch Manager for a dry ice distribution company. The Branch Manager has overall responsibility for the critical issues of branch operations and profitability including: sales, sales growth, budgeting, gross margins, operating expenses, safety, customer service, inventory, equipment, building and vehicles, community relations, accounts receivable and resolution of personnel issues. Within my organization we have an internal recruiting department. This department reviews all resumes, screening candidates, and gives them aptitude test. After reviewing the results from the aptitude test, the qualified candidates are forwarded to myself to conduct a formal face to face interview. By having an internal recruiting department, this save time on the branch manager to handle the day to day operations without having to go through so many resumes and countless numbers interviews. Depending in the position that’s available, I may try and recruit internally. I am a firm believer in internal recruiting when the position is right for the employee. This helps with employee morale by showing the company rewards hard working employees by promoting with in.
