During the remainder of this semester's ECEn 240 labs you will design and build a complete working stereo amplifier system (as seen in the figure above), which will include an audio mixer, microphone preamplifier, tone controls, audio power amplifier, power supply, and high fidelity speaker crossover networks. You will accomplish this one block at a time using the principles of design and analysis you learn in ECEn 240 lecture. We hope you have fun while you learn! ( Before each Lab , write-up to the Experimental Procedure section) PRELIMINARY PROJECT OVERVIEW Purpose Include in write-up, copy in your own hand writing. The purpose of this laboratory is to design and implement a stereo Master Volume control, which will be a sub-component in your stereo amplifier system . Objectives Include in write-up, copy in your own hand writing. Familiarize with lab equip; Stereo Chassis, DMM, CD player, Power Amp Review & discuss for understanding the volume control ‘Design Specifications’ Discuss Line Level Discuss Potentiometers Discuss Ganging Discuss Tapers with plots or graphic representation Discuss Decibels Measure and plot pot resistance at pre-determined settings Demonstrate integrated volume control with a CD player and power amp Draw a schematic Diagram of integrated Vol Control Design Specifications Include in write-up, copy in your own hand writing.
