Jake Walter Ms. Lotze ARC 160D1 16 September 2016 The Phoenix Zoo The Phoenix Zoo is located in the central Phoenix area. It is a strange sight to see a zoo in the middle of a large metropolitan area. The zoo is surrounded by all kinds of trees that are mostly native to Arizona such as mesquite and paloverde tress and has a large lake at the front entrance. The main entrance is across a small bridge over the lake. The zoo is very spread out and offers a wide variety of animals, reptiles and even some fish. Paved walkways wind through the different exhibits and vendors sell food to the many spectators. Mostly families attend the zoo and even though it was 95 degrees out there were still plenty of people in attendance.The zoo was kept very clean and looked to be in good shape, with most of the animals walking around or doing something. The most popular exhibits are featured closest to the entrance, such as lions, zebras and giraffes. The zoo had many other animals such as moneys, elephants and peacocks. I saw quite a few animals I had never seen in real life before, including toucans and komodo dragons. It was
