Homeless men suffer from many health conditions. One health condition that homeless men face is that of mental health. This population of people tend to seek health care only when it is an emergency condition and have a decrease use of primary care facilities (Rhoades et al., 2014). Many mentally ill homeless men feel a since of powerlessness and feel that they are being stigmatized due to their mental illness. A study conducted on access to care for the homeless showed that women were most likely to have access to care for mental health and other health conditions than men (Winetrobe et al., 2017). I ntervention or exposure 3. What do you want to do with this patient (e.g. treat, diagnose, observe)? The intervention for the mentally ill homeless man is to increase access to primary care through the use of Nurse Managed Health Centers (NMHCs) and developing therapeutic relationships.
