133 Final Exam Study Guide – Essay Topics On the final exam, you will be asked to write 2 essays. I will select the essays from the list of topics below. Each question prompts you to discuss 2 examples. You should use at least 1 example from the second half of the course (after the mid-term). If you’d like, for each question you may use 1 example from earlier in the semester, but you are not required to use material from the first half of the semester. (In other words, for each question you may use 2 examples from the 2 nd half of the semester, or 1 from the first half and 1 from the second half.) Essays should be composed of well-constructed paragraphs, using complete and clearly-written sentences. You should not simply provide a list or bullet-point ideas. Essay questions will draw from the following prompts, with possible variations: 1. Discuss the idea of intercultural exchange in musical practices of the world using 2 examples of musicians or groups discussed in lecture. Think about the following: What factors contributed to the exchange, and how? (i.e. radio, TV, Internet,
