Technology 2 In today’s society, it is a social norm to be on your cell phone, a tablet, or a computer and be able to do almost anything you can imagine. Everything from reading a book to talking to someone half way around the world is done online. Most relationships are not even based on face to face interactions anymore; instead they are built on a series of text messages or video grams. Education has even fallen victim to the on-line world and thus the relationship between students has diminished. The “college experience” is a thing of the past for a lot of students these days. This makes getting an education more accessible but the learning experience has changed dramatically. With the majority of college students also working, the digital degree has become a promising and favorable way of continuing your education while still supporting your household. “A new survey from Citigroup and Seventeen magazine finds that almost 80 percent of students take at least a part-time job during the school year.” (ThinkProgress, 2013) But with on-line schooling, students miss out on the campus lifestyle.
