[SHORTENED TITLE UP TO 50 CHARACTERS] 2 Inequality Inequality does exist in the United States and has for a very long time with no end in sight. This is due in part to the fact that, "social classes do exist in America, and social class distinctions can be observed through a variety of objective and subjective indicators", (Shapiro,2006). Inequality is inevitable because of the way that society has been indoctrinated over the centuries. Certain races are just seen as being inferior so therefore they do not deserve the same rights, choices, lives as other races. With certain changes greater equality of opportunities for the whole of American society could be established and make the apple pie lifestyle feasible for all and not just for the well to do members of society. One change could be ensuring that blacks have the same resources, or access, that can be used to secure their places in the community of politics, to help in providing for future generations head start, to help the children of these communities obtain a great education, and to help plan for a better future. "Without sufficient assets, it is difficult to lay claim to economic security in American society", (Shapiro,2006). Learning the difference between having income and being wealthy would
