PROJECT SCOPE DOCUMENT 2 Project Scope Document PROJECT SCOPE STATEMENT Written by: Angela Werner Date: February 25, 2018 Position Held: Project Manager PROJECT OBJECTIVE For this project, the U.S. Army, Ground Forces and Special Operations, is looking for the product development of a new backpack. The backpack design and features need to solve their current need for a product that will allow their troops to keep food and beverages cold and allow them to access their communication devices faster in a more convenient manner. The current U.S. military issued backpacks lack features that fill those two needs. Without having these features on their bag, this creates possible situations where troops are not able to maintain peak performance while working within the field, or having the ability to recover injured soldiers in a faster manner that could be the difference between life and death. The creation of the built-in refrigerated pouch and radio module for the backpack in this project will eliminate this problem for the customer and improve operational effectiveness within the U.S. Army. The project objective is to design, develop, produce, and deliver this new product to the customer within a year and a half of the September 1, 2015, start date. The project will be executed in established milestones to deliver 200 units in total (100 to Ground Forces and 100 to Special Operations) with a delivery schedule of 100 units sent out in the first twelve months and 50 more units every following three months. The completion of this project is March 1, 2017.

We also assume that since this project will require materials from outside suppliers that they will

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
