However, from a supply chain and manufacturing/production prospective, I believe a company being socially responsible has to be a key ethical issue. 11/21/2017 Collection – MBA675-T301 Operations & Logistics in the (... ; 3/40 (Post is Unread) It was really interesting to learn how the production scheduling works at our plant. Production to stock for the holidays began in August, we had a packaging robot go down and it caused the production schedule to be thrown o² in so many ways. The biggest impact was to bring in employees to continue the packaging from the lines to keep up with the production in progress. It took 8 employees per shift for 3 straight shifts to package the product. This backed up the production schedule in the equipment and loading docks as well as delivery trailers bringing in the ingredients. The costs of resources to not only
