Rylee Garvine TAR 100 Professor Yarnelle 04 December 2017 Final Reflection Unlike other students in this course, I did not have a choice as to whether or not I wanted to take the course, as it is required for my major. Though I was somewhat forced to take this course, I really enjoyed it. Prior to this course, I have stayed on the design/technical side of theater. I have had minimal acting experience through high school and community theater, but that experience seemed like a kindergarten graduation (superiors simply telling me what to do, how do it, etc.) compared to what I have learned during this course. Through taking this course, I have learned much more than I previously thought possible about a characters’ given circumstances, and their effect on their actions/interactions. Prior to this course, I had always assumed that I could understand how a character was supposed to act based on dialogue alone. I now understand that I must dig beneath the dialogue to give meaning to it.
