Running Header: Thesis and Outline Thesis and Outline Introduction 1. “The truth, of course, is that a billion falsehoods told a billion times by a billion people are still false”-Travis Walton. 2. I chose to research this ethical issue in business because I feel like it is the most common unethical behavior being done by companies. 3. Companies want to gain a large customer base over their competitors, so they resort to unethical business practices by making false advertisements using different techniques to try and draw in more customers, or steal them from their competitors. Body I. Companies use different unethical advertising techniques to try and draw in customers. A. Companies use green washing. This is when they claim a product or service is environmentally friendly, when it really isn’t. B. Fine print is the most common type of false advertising. They add additional conditions, limitations, or restrictions at the bottom of a contract or an agreement.
