The topic I am going to talk about is colon cancer.Let’s look at what cancer is first,” Cancer is an uncontrolled division, which results in the formation of amass of cells called a neoplasm or tumor. Is one way of saying what cancer is. The other way to explain itis: cancer is a group of diseases characterized by uncontrolled or abnormal cell division, cells duplicaterapidly and continuously”( Principles of Anatomy and Physiology). “ Colon cancer is cancer of the largeintestine, which is the final part of your digestive tract.Most cases of colon cancer begin as small,noncancerous clumps of cells called adenomatous polyps”( mayo clinic).The symptoms and signs of coloncancer include a change in your bowel habits, such as diarrhea/constipation, consistency of your stoolthat last longer than four weeks. Rectal bleeding/blood in stools, persistent abdominal discomfort,cramps, gas pain, feeling like you do not empty completely, weakness/fatigue, unexplained weight loss.The causes are not clear as to what causes colon cancer. Your Dr. will recommend a certain screening test
