Kyle Colyn Dr. Eppinga Bio 125 12-1-16 Senior Ag talks Analysis of Liquid Feeds in a Dairy Ration : The main question that the group was trying to answer was, “Will Liquid Feeds increase overall economic profit?” Even though the costs of liquid feed a greater than dry feed, will the overall profit outweigh the costs? Their main objectives were to examine dry matter intake, sorting, milk production, milk components and the economic analysis. A Christian would want to research this because as Christian economists, we want to make the most of what God has given us. God gave us minds to think and if liquid feeds will help to strengthen the economy, we should want to do it. A Christian farmer could take these results and not only increase his own profits, but share it with other farmers and strengthen the economy. In order to get the results they were looking for, the group needed to perform a method called a shakeout. This method required them to collect samples of feed and perform a shakeout three times a day. They had to collect a sample from each of the five sites in each pen. The group then had to quarter each of the samples. A 450 gram sample is then shaken out and there is a total of 40 shakes.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
