Act 5 Summary: Before the battle began all parties decided to attempt a negation, but it failed. The battle had begun and when Cassius is informed that he is losing he demands his servant kill him with the same blade that killed Caesar so it comes “full circle”. Titanius finds Cassius and in mourning decided to kill himself as well leading Brutus to believe that Caesar’s ghost is attacking these people convincing them to kill themselves. In battle many people die and Lucililus is pretending to be Brutus and is saved because of it. Brutus then is trying to find a way to kill himself and finally gets Strato to hold a sword for him to run into. Upon finding him Antony declared Brutus the “noblest Roman”. Comprehension Questions 1) Who was Caesar surprised to see killing him? Brutus. He was a loyal friend. Caesar thought that if his most loyal friend wanted him dead then so be it. 2) Who speaks on Caesar’s behalf? Antony 3) What was wrong with the person that the mob killed at the end of Act 3?
