Act 2 Summary: Brutus goes from thinking about joining the anti-Caesar squad to actually joining them to attending a meeting and deciding to kill just Caesar. His wife Portia knows something is up, but doesn’t know what. Caesar’s wife Calphurnia had a bad dream in which Caesar died and begs him to stay home., but Decius, who is in on the plot to kill Caesar, comes by and convinces Caesar to go into work by dangling the prospect of a crown in front of him. The Soothsayer wrote a note to Caesar naming all the people out to get him. Portia worries about Brutus and wans to send a servant after him. Comprehension Questions 1) What was the reasoning behind not killing Antony? They believed it would have been too much to kill Antony and that he would have no power after Caesar was gone. 2) What was wrong with the animal that the priests sacrificed? The animal did not have a heart. 3) What was Calphurnia’s dream?
