ITEC 640 Information Technology Project Management Final Exam PART I Select two projects of your choice.* One should be a smaller project, and the other should be more large-scale. You may define “small” and “large” however you choose.*DO NOT use your group project. *If you use a project that you or any other student suggested for a discussion post, you must do the following:Indicate which post the project example was suggested in (name of student, Week X, posted on X/X/17)Expand or change the project described in the discussion, and explain how you did so (i.e., please don’t copy-paste the post)Describe the small-scale project: (Previous discussion post? Note Week, student, post date, how you’ve modified it)I recently joined the Toastmasters organization for my base. This organization has very low attendance, so we are creating a website to inform people of the meeting dates and times. We will choose the wordpress platform to build the organization’s website. The name of the website will be Guam Toastmasters (). We will then need to figure outwho will pay for and maintain the website. Lastly, we will set up a wordpress website, making itlook like a professional organization. Describe the large-scale project: (Previous discussion post? Note Week, student, post date, how you’ve modified it)My large-scale project is about a robot cleaning service company. I posted this project during theweek 3 project scenario. In a typical household with working parents, they do not have time to clean the house and spend time with their family at the same time. A Robot Cleaning company will provide an easy solution to working parents’ problems, in which they will spend less time cleaning and more time with their children. Working parents will be able to show up at the store or order a rental robot through an online order and it will arrive at their location of choice. PART IIIn the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK), the Project Management Institute (PMI) identifies ten Knowledge Areas.
Name these ten Knowledge Areas as indicated in the list below. Note: I filled in #10, as it’s not obvious from your reading. 5 pointsFor each Knowledge Area, explain what project tasks are necessary and which tools can be utilized for project success within this Knowledge Area. 100 pointsoHow might these processes and strategies differ for the two projects you chose? Will different aspects be more important for a small or large project?oIf a chart, table, or diagram is necessary for tasks within a Knowledge Area, create and display them for each project. Again, explain how and why they are different for the two projects. (Don’t worry, not every Area will require a chart/table/diagram.)oAssume at least 5 major tasks for the large project, and at least 3 for the small project. For simplicity, no need to go to the sub-task level.
