Republicans were able to capitalize on during that election because they were more organized and secretive. - House Republican Conference Whips - Majority and Minority Whip - Elected by party members o Named after British house of commons where they are called the ‘whipper in’ (the rider who keeps the hounds together in a fox hunt) - Duties o Keep members in line Rules Committee
