By: Storm Sparacino "Stopping By the Woods on a
Snowy Evening" by Robert Frost This poem, written in 1923, is
representative of the feeling of the
amount of wandering that occurred
during this time. Many people during the
20th century were struggling with issues
that caused them to need to wander on
long journeys, sometimes leading to
death. This poem may relate to the
amounts of people led to death during to
WWI. As mentioned in the last stanza,
these journeys were long and tiring. "Fog“ by Carl
Sandburg
This haunting piece, connects into
the events of the 20th Century in
many ways. A few ways the fog in
this poem is represents the time is
by the economic turmoil, the
struggle for Civil Rights, and the
internal struggle amongst many
other things. It sits upon "silent
haunches" representing the haunting
way in which your problems linger
with you. But by the end of the
poem, the fog has cleared and all is
well. The fog clearing could be a sign
of the times changing, for better or
