Exercise Science Lab Assessment of Muscular Strength and Endurance Purpose: The purpose of this lab is to develop the skills needed to administer and perform muscular strength and endurance tests. The muscular strength tests being performed include the handgrip test and the 1RM bench press test. The muscle endurance tests being performed include the YMCA bench press test, the push up test, and the curl up test. Procedure: See attached for both muscular strength tests and muscle endurance tests Results: See attached Discussion: 1. The assessment of the individuals tested in both their muscular strength and endurance capabilities were in the upper range for each test. All of the individuals were above average in the handgrip test and were at least in the 70 th percentile or greater in the 1RM bench press test. In the muscle endurance tests, all of the individuals placed in the excellent category. 2.
