1. Analyse Claiborne's business concept in relation to markets, suppliers and employees. To analyze the Claiborne's business concept in relation to markets, suppliers and employees , we will use two theories to apply in this case, which are the modern perspective of organizational environment theory and the S-D Logic theory. To begin with, the organizational environment is the theory which explains that the environment is one of the most significant factors for the organization to operate the work. The environment that surrounded the organization’s area has an influence to the company, suppliers, employee and customers. In this theory, there are many topics and sub-division sectors, but we will focus on the environmental uncertainty. This theory is one of the subtopics in the environmental contingency theory which is created by Burns and Stalker. To illustrate about the environmental uncertainty, it is a key element to describe about the rate of change and the complexity. In this case, the Claiborne’s business has a high complexity because the Claiborne’s business is the fashion company which is required a high creativity, imagination, and artistry to make the stylish garment, which is difficult to find a person who has this special ability. In the 1970’s, Liz Claiborne was one of the few people who always came up with a new idea about the trends of wearing clothes in that era. Therefore, the Liz inc. is one of the few companies that run the business in the market about the trend and fashion, especially for the working women because the uniform of career women is the main product of Liz inc. This makes the Liz Inc. be outstanding in the market in that time.

The suppliers of Liz Inc. are in the U.S. and in the Asia Pacific region, and the manufacturing of Liz inc. is located in Hong Kong. Therefore, the employees of Claiborne’s business also come from the oversea. In the Hong Kong market , the way of selling textiles had changed because of the Claiborne’s business because of the quality and quantity of the product. The style of wearing is not only complex, but also rapidly changed in the interval time. Because of this, the Claiborne business has a high rate of change . In the fashion-clothe markets, people are always looking for the new product to wear on. One of the many reasons is that people want to be in the trend that is popular in that time. Accordingly, people will usually find the new clothes product to wear because they do not want to be out of the fashion. Consequently, the garment’s organization of Liz frequently invent, adapt and adjust the new products of their brands for the customers to be always in the trend and to make sure that the garment of Liz Inc. is always in the trend that people use to wear.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
