Concept of mass and force Mass of a body is the quantity of matter in it, which is assumed to be constant . Mass gives a body its inertia (ability to move or stop) Weight is the magnitude of the force that the earth exerts on the body . 1 N is the force that will give a 1-kg mass an acceleration of 1m/s^2.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
