LEADERSHIP IN HEALTHCARE MANAGEMENT 2 Abstract There is a need for evident health care leadership around the world to confront the various challenges faced by health care organizations. Leadership in nursing can be referred to as the composite and multifaceted process which involves giving motivation, coordination, as well as resources to enable health care nurses and other professional, achieve collective goals and objectives. Leadership in health care involves initializing, coordinating and implementing various solutions to increased health care challenges. This paper will look at leadership as a current issue that impacts several factors in health care organizations. LEADERSHIP IN HEALTHCARE MANAGEMENT 3 Leadership in healthcare management Healthcare management critically explains the leadership and broad management with the administration of public health structures, hospitals, healthcare systems and hospital networks. The ultimate goals of healthcare management are to formulate several departments with a specific person, equipment, problem while ensuring a smooth running of the healthcare structures. As any typical organization, healthcare is faced with various current issues that its management should strive to implement effective solutions in order to achieve better goals in its setting. The current leadership in healthcare is incurring major revolution due to the constantly changing nature of healthcare (Ajmeera, 2014). In healthcare structures, only one leadership position is availed for each specific specialty. Since leadership cannot be taught in higher education facilities, these leadership positions are given to the healthcare workers that possess a better mastery of their skills. Healthcare leadership include responsibilities that will enhance cross-functional abilities to understand other main roles of the healthcare organization which involves leadership capabilities with abilities to integrate with other workers to attain various healthcare goals which are day by day increasingly crucial. Due to other issues such as staff shortage, scheduling as well as monetary considerations issues, leadership in healthcare has been denied convenient priority which has resulted in a lack of true leadership for good management and hence nurses have depended on their learned skills instead of a better directions that could come from leaders.
