Since there is only one girl character (the narrator) and one boy character (the narrator’s younger brother) in Boys and Girls , why do you think Alice Munro uses plural words in the title? Alice Munro title for this short story Boys and Girls title is not base only on the sister and brother. She referring to how generally speaking all boys and girls must act or do things current way. I think that by her using this title did help at the end of the story understand her message by using Boys and Girls . Before I read the story my thought of the title was it might be about how boys and girls related to each other. Didn’t expect it to be the opposite 2. Find the two occurrences of the phrase “only a girl.” Why and how does the meaning of the phrase change in each case?
